Google Nexus 7 tablet launch in Malaysia / liewcf
久しぶりにNexus7後継機のお話がでてきました。
しかも大手ロイター発。
Google Inc will launch a new version of its Nexus 7 tablet powered by Qualcomm Inc's Snapdragon processor around July, two sources told Reuters, as the software giant pushes deeper into the cut-price mobile hardware market.
Googleが安価なモバイル機器の市場に深く攻め入るため、QualcommのSnapdragonプロセッサで動作する新しいNexus7タブレットを7月近辺に発売するだろうと、２つの情報筋がReuterに語りました。
Google is aiming to ship as many as eight million of the Asustek-made tablets in the second half of the year, throwing down the gauntlet to other low-end tablets such as Amazon.com Inc's Kindle Fire and Apple Inc'siPad mini, the sources with knowledge of the new product said.
Googleは800万台ものAsustek製タブレット(Nexus7のコト)を下半期に出荷することを目指し、AmazonのKindle FireやAppleのiPad miniのような他の安いタブレットに挑戦しようとしていると、その新製品にくわしい情報筋は語りました。
これまでの噂から決定的に違う点が、発売時期の7月。（...マジカヨ）
5月発売を期待していたんですが...。

従来から噂されていたように、プロセッサはnvidiaのTegraではなく
Snapdragonになるとされています。
引用記事には、「power reason」でSnapdragonが選ばれたとあるのですが
NvidiaのTegra4が、Snapdragonのフラッグシップの800より早そうな記事を
いくつか見ているので、ニワカには信じられない理由ではあります。
価格は未定ながら、現行モデルとおなじ199ドル(1.9万円)、
もしかすると149ドル(1.4万円)程度になるかもしれないとのことです。
どちらにしろ戦略的な価格になりそうなのはうれしいです。
